Dermaroller
Dermaroller Therapy is a natural skin rejuvenation treatment that utilises advanced skin-needling to stimulate the collagen production and prompts regeneration and repair. The result of this regeneration is a reduction of fines lines & wrinkles whilst creating smoother, brighter, healthier, younger-looking skin.
Dermaroller skin needling provides results similar to Laser Resurfacing, Fraxel® but at a fraction of the cost and with minimal or zero downtime. This procedure achieves the following results:
-
Restore firmness and tightness to flaccid skin
-
Smooth away wrinkles, lines, folds and crow’s feet
-
Improves skin texture
-
Reduces the appearance of scars
-
Lightens pigmentation marks
Genuine Dermaroller Therapy provides advanced skin micro-surgical needling, a procedure which stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally and safely, creating smoother, brighter, healthier, younger-looking skin.
The therapy utilises sterile single-use devices, so quality and safety are guaranteed. It is only available from trained medical practitioners and authorised clinics.
The Procedure
A Genuine Dermaroller medical device is used to produce thousands of microscopic needle-columns in the skin. Each column will penetrate into the dermis of the skin and will be approximately 0.1mm in width. The column will close rapidly enabling the skin to recover quickly - often by the end of the day you have the procedure. A topical anaesthetic is used to numb the skin making the procedure comfortable; it will normally take around 30 - 60 minutes for the topical anaesthetic to work and 20-45 minutes for the actual procedure, depending on how large an area you are having treated.
After the procedure your body will start to naturally repair and regenerate the skin, working below the surface in the dermis. This takes time as new collagen and elastin is formed, new skin cells are generated and blood supply is enhanced. It can take up to 6 weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen and the process will continue over the following months, providing you with a gradual and long lasting enhancement.
It is normally recommended that you have three treatments with approximately six weeks between them, although this is not always the case, and you will be assessed individually by one of our practitioners who will work out a treatment plan for you.
Afterwards
Immediately after your procedure you will look as though you have moderate sunburn and your skin may feel warm and tighter than usual. This will start to subside after 1-2 hours and will normally recover within the same day with only slight redness the following day. Chiroxy cream will be applied to help soothe and calm the skin.
Use tepid water to cleanse the face for the following 48 hours and dry gently. Always make sure that your hands are clean when you touch the area. It is recommended that make-up is not applied for 12 hours after the procedure unless it is from our pre-approved range of Mineral Make-up.
If you will be in daylight immediately after the procedure apply a broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen with at least SPF30, and keep your face shaded as much as possible.
