Microdermabrasion
Concerns/Indications
Medical microdermabrasion is an effective skin rejuvenation procedure that delivers results with no downtime, allowing you to resume normal activities immediately after treatment.
The system used at Persona is the DERMA GENESIS, global leaders in effective skin resurfacing microdermabrasion.
DERMA GENESIS® Microdermabrasion uses a highly controlled flow of fine, medical grade crystals to remove the dead, outermost layer of skin. This skin exfoliation process reveals the new, living skin cells that are soft, smooth and receptive to nutrients.Tthe underlying epidermis is stimulated by the abrasion and the vacuum promoting new collagen which thickens the dermis and improves resistance to the effects of ageing.
It is an ideal treatment for young or old, male or female and for all skin types. Although mainly used on the facial area it may also be performed on the chest, back, shouldesr or other areas as required.
Microdermabrasion is commonly used to treat and diminish:
-
Fine Lines and Wrinkles
-
Sun Damaged Skin
-
Acne Prone Skin
-
Blackheads and Whiteheads
-
Superficial Age Spots
-
Hyperpigmentation
-

After Care
There are some practical measures that you can take following your microdermabrasion treatment what will ensure the speedy recovery and general health of your skin. We reccommend the following:
• Use a non-perfumed, gentle moisturiser regularly after your treatment and don’t wear make-up. It is likely that you will be advised as to which ones might work the best for you by your practitioner.
• Avoid extreme weather conditions such as sun and wind.
• Don’t swim for a couple of days after your treatment
• Sweat may make your skin feel uncomfortable, so exercise ought to be avoided for a few days after treatment
• Drink plenty of water to help re-hydrate the skin
• Avoid any other exfoliating treatments both professionally or homecare producst & do not shave or wax for a week after microdermabrasion
All of these measures ensure that your skin has the best possible chance to heal well and quickly, avoiding any unnecessary strain or risk. Any chance of irritation ought to be avoided. If you are unsure about any part of your daily life that might affect your skin after having microdermabrasion it is best to consult your practitioner as to whether or not it could cause potential harm. Most people are able to continue their lives as normal after the procedure.
