Fat Dissolving Injections
Concerns/Indications
Injection Lipolysis is used to permanently remove fat on any part of the body. This treatment however excels on the face by shrinking jowels, double chins and fatty deposits around the neck. The jaw line becomes more defined, profiles improved making the skin look tighter and lifted. This treatments works exceptionally well in combination with other non surgical facial lifting procedures. Injection Lipolysis was developed in 1995 when it was discovered that by injecting a substance called Phosphatidycholine (PPT) into human fat, it caused it to literally melt away. Since then many clinical trials have proved this to be a very effective and safe non surgical method of removing unwanted fat from the body.
As the name suggests this is an injectable treatment in which PPT is introduced into unwanted fatty areas over a number of sessions. The treatment is mildly uncomfortable and there will be swelling and redness for a couple of days. However these side effects do not interfere with everyday life in any way.
Treatments are recommended every 4-6 weeks and the number of sessions required depends on individual characteristics such as size, area of concern, diet and exercise. However in our 10 years of experience with this treatment usually 3-6 sessions produce amazing results. Results are permanent as injection lipolysis completely dissolves fat cells which are then eliminated from the
body by usual metabolic processes for removing fat.

After Care
Immediately post treatment you may experience a burning / stinging or itching sensation which subsides within 1-2hrs. Treated area(s) will be swollen and tender for approximately 48-72hrs, with any bruising subsiding within 2 weeks. If bruising occurs, use arnica cream. Take anti-inflammatory medication to relieve an discomfort and swelling i.e. Paracetamol.
To gain best results you SHOULD NOT:
Go swimming until needle marks have disappeared.
Take hot baths for 24hrs although showering is acceptable immediately.
Exercise the area(s) until the tenderness subsides.
To gain the best result s you SHOULD:
Use cooling masks / pads to help reduce swelling.
Massage treated area(s) a few minutes every day for the duration of the treatment course. This aids the dispersal of fat.
