What is Thread Vein removal?
Thread veins are tiny, dilated blood vessels that appear just beneath the surface of the skin. They’re most common on the face and often caused by factors like sun damage, genetics and ageing. Though harmless, they can make the skin appear blotchy or uneven.
Thread vein removal using thermolysis is a safe, targeted treatment that uses heat energy to collapse and remove these visible veins. Unlike lasers or intense pulsed light, thermolysis delivers precise results with minimal risk to surrounding tissue.
How does the treatment work?
Thermolysis works by delivering a very fine electrical current through a tiny probe that is applied directly to the affected vein. This current generates controlled heat, which causes the vessel walls to collapse and seal shut. Once treated, the vein is no longer visible and is naturally reabsorbed by the body.
Because thermolysis is incredibly precise, it targets only the unwanted thread veins without affecting the surrounding skin. It’s especially well-suited for facial areas where veins are small and close to the surface.
What to expect after treatment:
In some cases, the treated area may appear slightly red or flushed, but this typically fades within a few hours.
When to expect results:
Results from thermolysis for facial thread veins are often visible immediately after treatment. As the body absorbs the treated vessels, the skin becomes noticeably clearer over the following 7 to 14 days.
Depending on the number and depth of the veins, some clients may require a course of up to 3 sessions, spaced a few weeks apart, for complete results. Once removed, the treated veins do not return, although new veins can form over time due to genetics or environmental factors.
