What is Gummy Smile Botox?

Gummy smile botox is a quick, minimally invasive treatment that uses small doeses of botulinum toxin to soften the movement of the upper lip. This allows the lip to rest slightly lower when you smile, covering more of the gum line.

The treatment focuses on specific muscles, mainly the ones responsible for raising the upper lip. When these muscles are overactive, they expose more of the gums than desired  Botox gently calms their movement for a naturally enhanced smile.

How does the treatment work?

After a consultation to assess your smile dynamics and muscle activity, our medics will identify the ideal injection points. Using a fine needle, they will administer a few small injections into the targeted upper lip elevator muscles.

Because botox works by temporarily blocking the nerve signals that trigger muscle movement, the upper lip won’t lift as dramatically. The treatment is precise, so your ability to smile and express emotion remains intact, it will just be more balanced.

What to expect after treatment:

Following treatment, most clients experience minimal side effects. You may notice slight redness, swelling or sensitivity at the injection points, but these usually subside within a few hours. Normal activities can resume immediately, though it’s best to avoid rubbing the area or engaging in intense physical activity for the rest of the day.

Because the injections are so precise and low in volume, there is no risk of a frozen look.

When to expect results:

Improvements start to appear within 3 to 5 days, with full results developing around the 1 to 2 week mark. You’ll begin to notice that your upper lip doesn’t rise as high, resulting in a more proportionate smile.

The effects of gummy smile botox typically last around 3 to 4 months. Regular treatments can help maintain results and may gradually train the muscles to reduce overactivity over time.
