Teeth Grinding Injections in Bexleyheath

If you suffer from teeth grinding or bruxism, you know how frustrating jaw pain and worn teeth can become. Luckily, masseter botox offers an effective bruxism treatment that targets the root cause of the syptoms, which are the overactive masseter muscles.

The masseter is one of the muscles that helps you chew. It’s located on the side of your face and connects your cheekbone to your lower jawbone. When Botox is injected into the masseter, It’s sometimes called jaw Botox. The treatment uses botulinum toxin to temporarily block nerve signals in the masseter. As a result, the muscle is unable to move.

What is Masster Botox?

Masseter botox is a non surgical treatment that targets the masseter muscles, the large muscles responsible for chewing. These muscles are often overused by people who grind their teeth, especially in their sleep. Botox is carefully injected into these muscles to help relax them and reduce their activity without affecting normal facial expressions or chewing.

By calming the overactive masseter muscles, the treatment offers both medical and cosmetic benefits. Not only can it relieve tension and pain, but it can also slim the jawline for a more balanced facial appearance.

How does the treatment work?

The procedure begins with a detailed consultation to assess the size and activity of your masseter muscles. Botox is then injected directly into targeted points in each masseter muscle using a fine needle.

Because botox works by temporarily blocking nerve signals that cause muscles to contract, the treated muscles gradually become less active. As a result, the clenching and grinding associated with bruxism decreases significantly.

What to expect after treatment:

Immediately after treatment, you might notice slight swelling, redness or mild tenderness at the injection sites. These effects typically resolve within a few hours to a few days. Most clients resume normal activities right after leaving the clinic, as there’s no required downtime.

Avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area and refrain from strenuous exercise for the rest of the day. These simple precautions help the botox settle properly and deliver the best possible results.

When to expect results:

You’ll start to notice a reduction in jaw tension and grinding with 3 to 7 days. However, the full results typically develop over 2 to 4 weeks as the botox settles. Many patients report better sleep quality and a noticeable drop in jaw painn during this period.

Results generally last between 3 to 6 months. With regular treatments, the masseter muscles may shrink slightly over time, which can extend the benefits and reduce the need for frequent injections.
