Keratosis Removal in Bexleyheath

From £195

Safe, effective treatment for seborrheic keratosis and rough, raised skin lesions.

Keratosis refers to a buildup of keratin on the skin’s surface, resulting in rough, raised or scaly patches. The most common type is seborrhoeic keratosis: a benign, non-cancerous growth that can appear black, brown or tan. These lesions often develop on the face, chest, back, or shoulders and may become more common with age.

While harmless, many people choose to remove keratoses for cosmetic reasons or to prevent irritation caused by clothing or jewellery.

How do we remove Keratosis at Persona Medical Aesthetics?

At Persona Medical, we offer three removal methods at our CQC-regulated clinic in Bexleyheath:

  • Cryotherapy freezes the lesion using liquid nitrogen. The extreme cold destroys the keratotic tissue, which then flakes off during the healing process.
  • Skin shave removal uses a sterile blade to gently shave the raised growth off the surface of the skin. This method is quick and leaves minimal scarring.
  • Curettage involves lightly scraping the lesion with a medical instrument until the abnormal tissue is cleared away.

During your consultation, we assess the size, depth and location of the keratosis to determine the best method of removal.

How does the treatment work?

Your skin will be cleaned and numbed before removal. Whether we freeze, shave or curette the lesion, we always prioritise precision, comfort, and excellent cosmetic outcomes.
Most clients can return to normal daily activities immediately after the procedure.

What to expect from your Keratosis removal treatment in South East London

Healing begins straight away. Within a few days, the treated area may form a light crust or scab. This normally falls off naturally over 7-10 days, revealing healthy skin underneath.

When to expect results:

Full recovery may take 2-3 weeks. This is dependent on the treatment method and individual skin response. Any redness or pigmentation will also fade over time.

To support healing and avoid the risk of complications, we recommend keeping the area clean, avoiding sun exposure and following our simple aftercare instructions.
