Male Breast Reduction Surgery in Bexleyheath
Price On Consultation
Male Breast Reduction (gland only) is a specialised treatment designed to remove excess glandular breast tissue in men. This procedure targets firm, fibrous tissue that does not respond to diet, exercise, or fat removal alone. By focusing solely on gland removal, the chest gains a flatter, firmer and more masculine contour.

What is Male Breast Reduction Surgery?
Many men experience a condition called gynaecomastia, where the breast area becomes enlarged due to excess gland tissue. Unlike fatty tissue, this gland cannot be reduced through weight loss or exercise. Male breast reduction surgery for glands only removes this tissue directly, restoring a naturally masculine chest shape.
For suitable candidates, this procedure is performed entirely under local anaesthetic. That means no general anaesthesia, no hospital stay and a faster recovery. You remain awake and comfrotable, with the treatment area fully numbed.

How does the treatment work?
The procedure begins before you come into the clinic with a thorough consultation and suitability assessment.
On the day, the chest area is cleaned and injected with local anaesthetic to ensure complete comfort. A small, discreet incision is made, usually around the edge of the areola, to access the gland tissue. Dr Braham will carefully remove the glandular tissue while preserving the surrounding skin and natural contours. Because the treatment targets only the gland, there is minimal disruption to the other chest structures.
Once the gland is removed, the incision is closed with stutures. A dressing is applied and you can go home the same day.
What to expect after treatment:
Results from gland removal male breast reduction are visible immediately after the procedure, although swelling can temporarily obscure the final outcome. As the swelling subsides over the following weeks, the chest appears flatter and more defined. Most men see their final results within 6-12 weeks, with a permanent reduction in the gland tissue. Once removed, the gland does not grow back, so results are long lasting, provided there are no hormonal changes or significant weight gain.
When to expect results:
Mild pain, tightness, and discomfort are normal for the first few days after gynaecomastia surgery. These can usually be managed with prescribed or over-the-counter pain relief. Swelling and bruising are expected but will gradually improve. Most men see 70–80% of their results immediately after surgery. As swelling subsides over weeks and months, the chest will become flatter, firmer, and more contoured. Keep incisions clean and dry. Follow your surgeon’s instructions for cleaning, ointments, and dressing changes. Avoid touching or disturbing the healing skin.
